I believe that the best way for a child to learn is with his or her whole body. They more engaged each child is, the more actively s/he will be thinking about the information being used – and the deeper his/her thoughts will be. Children also need lots of life experience, for how can we ask them to think big thoughts or write great things without the experiences on which to hang those ideas? We wanted the kids to recognize some of what they were seeing and to have a connection to at least a few. They far surpassed my expectations of them and got really into each one!
