Susan May Warren’s new Austen will send your heart racing and your mind whirling as you try to solve the world-devastation mystery that collides with the tropical survival story and shipwrecked treasure hunt! Everything that Austen and crew experience will boggle your mind, but in the best kind of way: you’ll experience the adventure and heartbreak alongside her, but also the joy and healing that comes with healing.
Warren can make the most wild, epic plot completely plausible, and that’s what makes her heroic adventures so wonderful. Russian mobsters? Self-made billionaires? Long-lost Spanish relics? Throw it all together, stir it up, and out comes an amazing Warren story!
For that alone, I’m here for the ride; but it’s Warren’s signature wit and wisdom that I really love. When you’re hanging onto the page for dear life, wondering how in the world your new bookish-friends are going to get out of this particular kettle of fish, and then BAM! – a zingy one-liner leaps off the page that totally summarizes the plot, the journey, and what the characters are trying to learn – and then it’s stuck in my head for days as I mull it over, considering all that it means. She really should print posters or cross-stitch pillows with these bits of wisdom.
So there you have it. Austen is a fabulous new saga in the Minnesota Kingstons series, and if you haven’t read the others, what are you waiting for? These books will make your summer.
