I am excited anew each time I open an Artzabox. I love exploring the boxes, trying out all of the items, and learning about the artisans and their home regions.
This subscription service ships out four themed boxes per year, and every single one has been fabulous. As time passes, though, I’ve realized that while one could use the items in the boxes in many different ways – and I’ve mentioned a few in previous reviews – they all have one important thing in common: they’re all designed to make connections.
For me, the biggest and best of these connections is between the people opening and enjoying the boxes. As a family, we’ve cooked new recipes and bonded over trying exotic dishes from the Holy Land. We’ve played games and decorated and had great discussions. We’ve even shared some of our favorite products and recommendations with friends.
That’s where I see even more relationship potential from Artza, and it’s built into each box with loving care. You as the recipient need do nothing – simply open the box, grab your people, and enjoy.
The latest box – from the Negev region – has great possibilities. We couldn’t wait to dig in, so we grilled out, ate dinner on our deck, and stayed gathered around the table as a family for far longer than we usually do so that we could finish playing the latest game. It was such fun! I loved that slow, relaxed dinner and the discussions that sprung from the questions in the game. It was wonderful!
That started me thinking: how else could you use the items in this particular box to build relationships?
Of course, all of the items could be used like the game, as a family, but I see some special potential here.
There’s a really great facial mask – that would make a great mommy/daughter date or girls’ night.
The spice blend for the Hearty Dukkah Yogurt Soup would be the perfect foundation for a lunch date with our local Bible study friends.
The handmade dish would make a lovely hostess-type gift for a simple event or shower. Sharing the card about the artisan who made it and including a few of your favorite muffins or crackers would make it even more fun.
I love to find fun yogurt and fruits to go with granola for breakfast, and the container of granola in this box is perfect for that! What a special treat it will be for a holiday breakfast with grandparents.
I love doing crafts with my kids, and while painting the Zuak tile myself would be fun, creating a special memory with one of them will be even better. The directions even talk about tea and music, and since a template is involved, people with a wide variety of artistic abilities will be able to participate in this project.
Artzaboxes provide the perfect learning experiences for families, homeschools, and youth groups, but their potential for growing relationships can’t be beat! There are many possibilities for connecting with the special people around you in just one box – and because there are similar items in each one (food, personal care, decorative, etc.) these possibilities abound! With some of the items providing enough for multiple uses, you can even get even more bonding events out of each one.
When you subscribe to Artza, you’re supporting local artisans in Israel, you get the opportunity to learn about the Holy Land in unique ways, and a bounty of bonding experiences are delivered to your doorstep. What could be better?
