Bold, sophisticated, and coy, Army Air Force flight nurse Lt. Kay Jobson collects hearts wherever she flies, leaving men pining in airfields all across Europe. So how can ruggedly handsome C-47 pilot Lt. Roger Cooper be all but immune to her considerable charms? In fact, he seems to do everything he can to avoid her.
Still, as they cross the skies between Italy and southern France, evacuating the wounded and delivering paratroopers and supplies, every beat of their hearts draws them closer. Can they overcome the fears and misunderstandings of the past in order to take hold of the future?
I loved reading Kay’s story! Sundin created the perfect ending to the Wings of Nightingale series. Kay may have a reputation for being fast and free, but she’s really just hiding her heart, and Sundin makes this clear in this new book.
Kay has baffled me from the beginning of the series, and I enjoyed the opportunity to hear her heart. Watching her truly fall in love for the first time was enlightening. That’s really what the entire book was about – Kay believing that she is worthy of love, not just easy love from the closest male, but true, deep love from God Himself. The lessons that she learned about love and forgiveness are ones that we each need to internalize at some point in our lives.
As the final book in the Wings of Nightingale series, In Perfect Time couldn’t have been better. The war action kept the pages turning while the love story and drama engaged your heart. I love these books, and I certainly hope that Sundin is already working on the next one – because I can’t wait to read it.
