Susan May Warren delivers another zinger of a lesson as she takes you on a wild ride across Europe with Iris and hunky hero Hudson Bly. With her signature wit and wisdom, Warren delves into our core identity as humans and how we relate to each other – all while trying to keep from being blown up by unknown assassins.
Warren has mastered the ability to make a story relatable to everyone by sharing truth that we all need to hear in exciting, adventuresome ways – though the twists and turns in this series are complex. This isn’t a stand-alone book; you’ll need to read the complete Minnesota Marshalls series to appreciate fully the depth and complexity of the characters and the plot, but you won’t be sorry because it’s really that amazing.
Traveling through Europe isn’t a possibility for me right now, but this series feels as if you’re there with Iris, seeing the beauty of each location through her eyes. I appreciate the travel experience that Warren brings to each story, and that only adds a layer of depth and reality to each one.
As usual, Warren ended this story with a cliffhanger – but I’d be anxiously waiting for the next one in the series, Creed, anyway. She’s really putting this family through the wringer – but that only means a more exciting story for the readers, and as for me, I’m here for it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.
