Betrayed, injured, and on the run, can they out-maneuver their pursuers before it’s too late?
Lethal Intentions is romantic suspense in the style of Tolkien’s The Hobbit. This story is full of action scenes bookended with lots of travel and eating. As the story’s plot involves the main characters trying to solve a mystery while attempting to flee from the bag guys, this makes sense and fits that Hobbit-like structure.
It is a book by a new-ish author, and sometimes it reads as such. This translates into a suspense story that does involve gunfights and serious consequences, but it doesn’t feel as intense as many other suspense stories often do, and while the stakes are very high for the main characters, other lives aren’t dependent upon them solving this mystery. People who are interested in mystery stories but aren’t ready for super high stakes and intense scenes might be really interested in Lethal Intentions.
I enjoyed the main characters but was just as interested in the locations. Having just returned from a field trip to Hawaii, it was interesting to see how each this and the other locations impacted the action in the story.
Lethal Intentions is an interesting start to a new series. Fans of sweet suspense should give it a try.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.
