I love when my family makes dinner requests! It’s not that I don’t like cooking, but sometimes I get tired of trying to figure out what to make. When they’ll tell me what they’re hungry for, it’s much simpler – and then I’m sure that everyone will like it!
That’s one reason I like this stroganoff so very much. My people request it often – and fortunately for me, it’s really easy to make. With only a few ingredients and one pan needed, you can have this dish ready in no time.
Is it a bit different than the traditional stroganoff? Yes, and that’s why we like it. It comes out creamy and rich, the thick sauce covering every noodle crevice, with no topping or stirring necessary on the plate. It’s inexpensive to make, since it uses simple ground beef (or turkey!) instead of a roast, and it comes together quickly.
I like to pair this with generous green salads, and with that, we have a complete meal that is both healthy and can be put on the table very quickly. This recipe holds up well to simple swaps, too: it’s just as good with ground turkey as with beef, and whole wheat pasta also works well. (I used tri-color rotini in the picture below. My Big Helper, who requested this for dinner, loved the color it added to the dish!)
