Natalie Walters brings on the Christmas fun with her new novel ‘Better Watch Out!’ It’s the perfect combination of holiday cheer and light romantic suspense to kick off the Christmas season with a bang.
I really like the way that Walters balanced those two elements. The descriptions of the seasonal beauty in New York City and Frannie’s upbeat attitude, despite her heartache, played well with the danger she faces and Andrew’s struggle to overcome the pain of his past. There’s enough meat to dig into but the way these characters face each obstacle makes the story sheer fun, and I really love that.
What really made ‘Better Watch Out‘ for me is Frannie’s attitude. While I usually prefer more of a dynamic, strong leading lady, you can see Frannie assert her will first through her positive outlook and then grow in other ways throughout the story. She takes charge of her own life in ways that she hadn’t before the story began, and that is admirable.
So if you need some help getting in the tinsel-hanging mood or just want to light up your holiday season with twinkling lights, grab a copy of ‘Better Watch Out.’ It’ll start your Christmas season off right.
