Printable Books of the Bible "Summary Sheets" - Review - A Nest in the Rocks

Printable Books of the Bible “Summary Sheets” – Review

My kids are learning to study the Bible for themselves, but it’s a big job!  That’s why we’re excited to use Teach Sunday School‘s Printable Books of the Bible “Summary Sheets” to help us out.

These Bible printable summary sheets are wonderful.  They lay out the most important facts about each book of the Bible in a fun, colorful, infographic kind of way.  They tell big facts, like whether the book is in the Old or New Testament, but also where in each part it can be found.  It identifies the author of the book, as well as what the author is known for, and the time period that it spans.

Further down, there’s a section for famous stories found in the book and the most famous verses from that particular book.

The bottom section is called “Important Points About the Book.”  This is my favorite part because instead of just facts, this part analyzes the type of information in the book.  For instance, it might compare the audience of the book of Luke to Matthew’s audience so that the reader can better understand why the writing of the same stories can be different.

My kids both read the Bible on their own now, but they have lots of questions.  These sheets are really helping us wade through the behind-the-scenes information to help us understand what was happening at the time that they were written.

They’re great for our church’s Bible Club, too.  Each Wednesday a group of middle-graders meets to watch a video about the Gospels and then to dig into the related culture.  We’re studying the history, architecture, and way that people lived so that we can better understand the choices that were being made.  These printable Bible sheets provide great background information to help us understand what’s happening, and I love how handy they are.  It’s so easy to look up the information we want based on which book of the Bible that it’s in and find the we want answers there.

These sheets are so colorful that they’d be cute hanging on a Sunday School classroom wall, where they could provide both decoration and easy reference, but we’re binding ours so that we can keep them with our Bible materials.  That way they’re all together so that we can easily read the summary information for any book of the Bible that we’re using.

If you work with kids or are trying to learn more about the books of the Bible, these Printable Books of the Bible “Summary Sheets” would be a great tool for you!
